Hoist
I had a 2 post hoist at my previous location. However; I was not entirely happy with the setup for the type of work that I generally do on my cars. Driving over the center plate daily and/or having to use ramps/blocks when lifting was always a pain in the neck for the Super Seven.
Now that I have retired and moved back to Vancouver Island, the new shop required a new lift. I selected the Peak 407-P (7000 lbs) four-post lift. I added the sliding bridge jack J5H (6000 lbs). This shorty lift is perfect for the Super Seven and leaves maximum space in the garage.
Experience from the last year is that the hoist works perfectly for the Super 7. The ramps are a little short for the Jettas, BMW's etc. For friends, purchasing the optional extended aluminum ramps would make the lift more universal. The quick fix is placing a 2x12 under the ramp. I cut the 2x12 to the length of the gap between the deck rails for easy storage.
As a bonus the 2x12's are perfect shelves for tools or lights when working under the car.
